Michael D. Kaplan -
Equity Partner
Michael D. Kaplan is an Equity Partner of Kaplan Law Group, P.A. Michael was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and lived in the states of Indiana, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey before moving to Florida.
Education & Licenses
After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from The Pennsylvania State University in 1993, Michael went on to earn his Juris Doctor in 1998 from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law.
Michael was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1998 and is licensed to practice before all courts of the State of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Former Insurance Defense Attorney
For approximately the first ten years of his practice, Michael defended various insurance companies and insureds in personal injury and property damage claims; thus, he gained immeasurable knowledge as to how insurance companies process claims and handle coverage matters.
Areas of Practice
In 2009, he joined his wife’s practice and formed Kaplan Law Group, P.A. Since that time, Michael’s practice has been focused on representing plaintiffs in personal injury matters and assisting homeowners and business owners with their property damage claims against insurance companies. Michael is a proud member of FAPIA (Florida Association of Public Insurance Adjusters) and has served as a guest speaker at FAPIA conferences.
Courtroom Experience
Michael has tried numerous cases and has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Florida Supreme Court. Michael also has been hired as lead trial counsel by other lawyers who need assistance at trial.
Rina F. Kaplan -
Managing Partner
Rina F. Kaplan is the Managing Partner of Kaplan Law Group, P.A. Rina was born in La Paz, Bolivia and speaks Spanish fluently. When she was a teenager, she moved to Miami, Florida where she finished high school.
Education & Licenses
After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Miami in 1991, Rina went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law in 1998.
She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1999 and is licensed to practice before all courts of the State of Florida.
Areas of Practice
After working several years for a prominent plaintiff personal injury attorney, Rina opened her own law practice, Law Office of Rina Kaplan, P.A., in 2003. Since that time, has focused her practice on representing plaintiffs in personal injury matters. She also commits a portion of her practice to handling PIP (personal injury protection) insurance claims. In 2009, Rina’s husband, Michael, joined her practice and they formed Kaplan Law Group, P.A.

Rina has tried numerous cases and is AV Preeminent rated, the highest possible rating for a lawyer in both legal ability and ethical standards. Rina also serves as an attorney’s fees expert for other lawyers.
Christina J. Hudson-Flores – Senior Attorney
Christina J. Hudson moved to Miami from Seattle, Washington to attend law school. She draws from both her personal and professional life to advocate for clients.
Education & Licenses
Christina earned her degree from the University of Washington, majoring in Speech Communication (rhetorical criticism, speeches, non-verbal behavior, etc.), and graduated cum laude.
She graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 2005 and is licensed to practice before all courts of the State of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Areas of Practice
Christina has 20 years of experience with over 16 of those years as a trial attorney practicing PIP (personal injury protection) litigation and specialized in insurance fraud. She handled a high volume of cases from the beginning of the case to the end, including drafting and arguing summary judgments, trying cases as lead attorney, and arguing appeals. Her years of defense experience provides her with perspective in representing homeowners and personal injury and accident victims to overcome challenges brought on by various types of defendants. Christina is a proud member of FAPIA (Florida Association of Public Insurance Adjusters).
Courtroom Experience
Christina has argued and won many cases on summary judgment (without the need for trial), tried many cases, written appellate briefs, and argued at the appellate level in front of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. Christina has been hired by other attorneys as lead trial counsel to try their cases on both homeowners and personal injury matters.
